Following in the footsteps of the Bordeaux Administrative Court of Appeal, which in 2007 annulled the ministerial order of June 17, 2003 approving the classification of the M\u00e9doc Crus Bourgeois, on the principle that “…it is not enough to have a wine that is not classified as a Crus Bourgeois”. you can’t be judge and jury <\/u><\/b>“on November 30, The Bordeaux Administrative Court has annulled the results of the 123rd Concours G\u00e9n\u00e9ral Agricole (2014 edition) for P\u00e9charmant<\/b> wines.<\/p>\n
Indeed, in keeping with the consistency of its previous vintages, Ch\u00e2teau Corbiac was astonished to see its 2011 vintage fail to win a medal from the Commissariat G\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Concours, and then from the Ministry responsible for the competition. Worse still, it was not a finalist, in other words, eliminated from the local pre-selection in Bergerac.<\/p>\n
The analyses carried out by an accredited and certified laboratory for the pre-selection showed that the 2011 vintage complied perfectly with the appellation’s criteria. In response to these doubts, Ch\u00e2teau Corbiac was presented by the Ministry of Agriculture with the sworn statements of the P\u00e9charmant pre-selection jurors.<\/p>\n
Knowing that two of the jurors are P\u00e9charmant producers<\/b> anda third is the oenologist for two GOLD medal winners<\/b>, which the Ministry did not contradict, the Tribunal Administratif accepted Ch\u00e2teau Corbiac’s doubts as to the impartiality of the jury, finding as follows irregularity of the procedure leading to the result of the 123rd Concours G\u00e9n\u00e9ral Agricole (2014 edition) for P\u00e9charmant wines<\/b>.<\/p>\n
